How To Become A Train The Trainer CNA Instructor

The work of a qualified train the trainer CNA instructor is to teach students taking nursing assistant training courses. He must be a registered nurse who is able to do lesson preparation, assessment of the student and relevant record keeping. The possible places where this professionals works include community colleges, career training institutes and private health institution. These professionals usually hold an associate degree or a bachelor degree in nursing. He also has to go through an additional requirement of at least 2years on the job experience in the capacity of a registered nurse. Here are some qualifications for professionals interested in this career.

One must first have the qualifications equivalent to a registered nurse. This can be achieved in two ways; an individual can enroll for a two years associate degree program in nursing or a four year bachelor of science in nursing program. Community colleges and nursing schools offer these programs.

Registered nurse training involves attending of theory classes in lecture rooms. The program will also require you to work in a laboratory setting to be able to get the practical experience in some science courses before you start working directly with patients. It is a requirement to go for clinical rotations in different departments and at various health care facilities before you finish the program.

While still a student, you are expected to learn the basics of patient care. This involves patients of all age brackets. The program majors on adult and elderly care together with maternal care. A complete program will also touch on the nursing ethics which involves protection of the patient privacy and wellbeing.

All graduates from recognized training facilities are required to sit and pass a national council examination to be awarded a registered nurse license authorizing one to practice. It is only upon successful completion of the exams that you can be called a registered nurse. Different states set different qualifications to be met before one is licensed. The license should be renewed annually or as per the requirement of the council to continue practicing.

Before you can start teaching, you are required to have experience working as a registered nurse in a medical facility. The experience period can last for one or two years. Since teaching requires skills you also have to prepare yourself in order to educate others effectively. To achieve this you are required to complete a train-the-trainer certification course. This is also a federal requirement for certified training programs. The course can take a maximum of 15 hours but some may last for a longer time.

A certified nursing assistant teacher helps his student by providing them with theoretical and practical skills so they can be able to perform well in their examination as well as to enable them to do their work effectively. Due to technological advancements there are many new and better techniques used in the medical field today. So the teacher should keep himself updated on these changes.

Upon completion of train the trainer CNA instructor course one is free to seek employment provided he meets the set requirements depending on his state. Possible places to seek employment include a local community college, nursing care homes and municipal health colleges. Some high schools and vocational technical institutions can also employ such professionals.
