There's nothing you can do to stop it. When two separate people with a slight difference in views are placed together, there is sure to be a few disagreements. But don't stress because it's perfectly natural to have arguments with your companion as long as it isn't too often. That's why I've laid out a couple of tips below to bear in mind when you are arguing, and the actions to take after arguing in a distance relationship.
Things to Remember During a Fight
Pick Your Words With Care
Often when people get into a heavy fight they completely lose control and they occasionally say stuff to one another that they wouldn't even dream of saying in a regular conversation. We realize you might be angry. And sometimes it may be their fault entirely. But remember to pick your words carefully. Be sure to take some long deep breaths and think it over before saying anything. This can help to guard your lovers feelings and is sure to speed up the making-up process.
Use Limited Contact Until Your Tensions Have Levelled Out
It's no good talking to them while you are still upset with your lover. It's probably best to quit all communication until you both have calmed down and are ready to make up with one another. No phone calls. No text messages. No Skype.
After The Argument
Forget About Placing The Blame
It's not about who's to blame for the argument. It's about the cause of the disagreement. If you disagree about something that they don't really like about you, then maybe it's time to change that something they don't like. A lot of people have an, "I can't change for anybody" attitude in a relationship. Take it from us, the ones that can and do change are the ones that have a stronger relationship with one another.
Remember That You Are A Team
If you're going to improve as a couple then you're going to have to learn how to make important decisions together. These decisions will shape your future. If you love each other, and are both active in the relationship, then you will both want to work towards the same positive end result. Never forget that you are each on the same side.
Mail An Apology Note
A nice gesture after you have made up is to send your sweetheart a letter saying that you are sorry about hurting their feelings. Be sure to let your views about the issue known, but remember to let your significant other know that you don't want to argue anymore. Maybe send a photo of you both to help remind them of the joyful times you've shared, along with a small gift.
