What To Expect During Piper Meridian Training

By Leticia Jensen

Pilots that attend Piper Meridian training classes have the chance to learn how to operate the latest class of turboprop aircraft. These highly technical and sturdy aeronautical vessels are used for providing speedy flight services all over the globe with a stylish design that is built for speed and elegance.

These educational events are offered by experienced trainers that use state of the art facilities equipped with flight simulators. The classes chosen by most pilots are known throughout the aeronautical industry and are presented by the best trainers. The classes provide students with class schedules that include five or six day sessions, and students can schedule other courses that cover maintenance, and other advanced topics that pilots will find beneficial.

Students will learn all aspects of the techniques used to cover proper operating procedures from highly trained instructors. Through flight simulators, owners will learn all aspects of the fuel systems, and the powerful turboprop engine manufactured by Pratt & Whitney. The trainees will learn to properly manage the fuel systems on board and reap the benefits of fuel efficiency.

The course will introduce students to the normal procedures checklist that is to be used before each flight and other lists that are used during emergencies All areas of the electrical system will be covered during the course, and students will learn to control wing flaps and to manage other flight control mechanisms.

The cause of system failures will be discussed and instructors will task students with finding solutions to many types of failures. Over the course of two days, students will have the opportunity to study the instrument panel and how some are used to perform operational tasks and others will allow the pilot to file a flight plan. The flight simulators will give pilots a chance to feel how the aircraft responds during high altitude flight operations.

Class discussions will include how to engage the auto piloting program, and how that mode will affect the avionic equipment that is on board. Students will go through the phases necessary for removing ice from the aircraft while on the ground, and how to remove ice during flight. Classroom sessions will also explore the proper procedure for using the landing gear, and the environmental systems on board.

Owners will also discover that the jets interior can be upgraded using liberal color schemes that offer such color creations as mesa, summit, glacier and dune. The exterior paint choices are offered in metallic paints, or the owner can choose non-metallic colors that are offered in two tone varieties. All exterior paint selections will be created with DuPont polyurethane paints.

After a full review of course materials is conducted at the end of the course, and the training sessions will culminate with a final examination and a solo flight demonstration that is witnessed by one of the instructors. Pilots will learn how to load the aircraft with materials so that the weight and balance standards procedures are met and instructors will conduct a thorough review of all aircraft systems.
