How To Look Great On Your Wedding Day

By Carla Rossouw

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. The day you get married is a day you'll never ever forget. Wedding planning can be difficult, stressful and overwhelming, but it must be done with care as the day is just so important! Let other people take care of things on the day of your wedding, so you can just enjoy it.

If you want to make your wedding planning as much fun as the actual wedding will be, follow these ideas.

If you are the groom, make sure your tuxedo fits perfectly. Before making a final decision on your tuxedo, ask others for their opinion. The tux you wear will represent you in your photographs for many years to come, so choose wisely!

Ask your family and friends if they have any heirloom pieces you could borrow which would match your hairstyle and dress. This "something borrowed" will enhance the way you look and feel and add a special touch to the day.

If you're planning a wedding outdoors, you better have a plan B in case of any nasty surprises by Mother Nature. Set up a large canopy for shade or rain. A location with access to the indoors would also work well, just in case of bad weather. By placing wooden planks onto the ground, your guests can have their footwear protected from the mud.

It might be a friend or a family member. All that's needed is someone who can happily carry your gear during the ceremony and photo sessions. They may be able to help you as you gather the family for a group shot.

If the future newlyweds enjoy traveling, display decorations that portray a sense of wanderlust. Invitations and RSVP cards can be written in old script and yellowed to imitate antique postcards. An interesting travel bag decorated with colored bows and ribbons can be set up as a decoration alongside the guestbook or pictures of the bride and groom.

If you are pregnant and are shopping for your wedding dress, try to be aware of the fact that you are pregnant. This may sound obvious, but look at dresses in terms of their being able to fit your future shape.

It is important that every part of your wedding is well planned, from the food that shall be served to the specifics of the reception. Your guests should have a good time, and take part in different activities for your special day.

Plan your wedding ceremony for the afternoon so you can be fully rested before the event. This allows you a chance to do your final preparations at a more leisurely pace and avoid feeling rushed or exhausted. If possible, try to do something relaxing before the big event.

You don't have to go all out when it comes to purchasing things like centerpieces for the tables in your wedding. Instead of going with a huge table centerpiece that uses up almost the entire table, keep it simple. People will find it easier to converse across the table without a huge centerpiece getting in their way.

Pregnant brides should anticipate the need to adjust the size of their dress. Find a dress that can expand along with your belly.

Have some faith in other people to help you plan your wedding. It's true that most couples want to have the most power over the decisions when it comes to a wedding so they can ensure they have the wedding of their dreams. You can overdo it though, so you may want a trusted pro who has expertise in this area.

When choosing your wedding dress, consider not only your favorite dress styles, but the styles that are most flattering on your body as well. If you're on the short side, you may get better results sticking to dresses labeled petite rather than having a regular length dress altered. This will be a wise choice for you.

As was previously stated, a very memorable and important day in your life is your wedding day. Organizing a wedding is definitely stressful, even though it should not be. Following the suggestions from this article provides a good way to ensure that you are going to have your dream wedding.
